ABOUT US

Welcome to the artistic world of the Raimondo family – Marina, Jonathan & Charles! We are a trio of creative minds, fueled by the passion for modern art and the joy of collaboration. Hailing from Odessa, Russia, Marina Raimondo brings over two decades of painting experience to our collective endeavors. Her artistic journey has been a colorful tapestry of inspiration and creativity.

Jonathan Raimondo, one of the twin brothers, is a maestro of fine line work. His love for creating different types of art is evident in the intricate details and precision of his pieces. From delicate sketches to bold and expressive designs, Jonathan's fine line work adds a unique dimension to our artistic pursuits.

Charles Raimondo, the other half of the dynamic duo, not only contributes his artistic flair but also brings expertise as a laser engraving specialist. With aspirations to bridge art and architecture, Charles envisions a future where creativity knows no bounds.

Marina's seasoned brushstrokes, Jonathan's fine line creations, and Charles' innovative contributions come together to form a collective that transcends traditional boundaries. Join us on this artistic journey, where each stroke of the brush, delicate fine line, and laser-engraved detail tells a story of creativity, passion, and the beauty that emerges when family unites in artistic expression.

I was born in the beautiful sea town of Odessa, Ukraine, and I cherished my homeland. Despite my deep love, bidding farewell to my hometown was bittersweet. The political climate in 1978 prompted my family, when I was twelve, to immigrate to the US. The journey lasted months before settling in New York. Living in Austria and Italy at a young age exposed me to extraordinary arts, architecture, and the world's best museums, cultivating a taste for beauty. In 2008, emotions exploded onto the canvas, as I embraced the art form.

Quoting, "'Painting is silent poetry and poetry painting that speaks,'" attributed to Simonides by Plutarch in his De Gloria Atheniensium, III, 346.

'Versatility is key in my paintings; I consider the 'viewer' as I paint, not aiming for every detail but seeking to awaken the imagination. Leaving something undone engages the 'viewer' in the creative process. Images, symbols, and compositions inspired by personal, social, and political realities serve as a foil to evoke feelings. Elements like Movement, Colors, Shapes, Pattern, Line, and Texture excite me. I paint for sheer joy, translating everyday life into visual descriptions on canvas, navigating the relationships between elements for a successful composition. For me, creating, communicating, experimenting, and infusing emotion into the work form a profound connection.'

I am a 2D/3D artist born and residing in New Jersey. My passion for architecture, art, and design was solidified during my time in grad school with the inaugural class of the Michael Graves School of Public Architecture, complemented by valuable internships with Morris Adjmi and Weiss/Manfredi.

One of the notable highlights from my grad school journey was my project titled "Mast Remediation," where I merged traditional United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) remediation processes with phased urban design strategies. This innovative approach, accompanied by architectural interventions, aimed to transform contaminated land along the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line into dynamic public spaces. The project marked a segue into my exploration of converting brownfields into playgrounds, earning recognition with the Donald Rappaport Prize for public architecture innovation and a merit award from AIA Newark & Suburban architects.

With the proceeds from these accolades, I established my own maker space studio. Armed with technical skills acquired during my academic and professional journey, along with tools like the y-1200 laser cutter and Prusa i3 MK3S, I have brought visions to life for both local and national clients. From crafting custom grow houses to offering personalized sign services for biophilic wall art and various small business signage, my maker space serves as a hub for limitless opportunities in creative expression.

In the realm of artistic expression, my journey finds its roots in the profound inspiration derived from my mother and brother. Witnessing my mother's innate ability to translate emotions onto canvas and my brother's avant-garde approach to creativity sparked a passion within me to embark on my artistic odyssey. Their influence became the fertile ground where my love for art flourished. Embracing the realm of abstraction, I find joy in crafting intricate fine line work, a reflection of my fascination with the interplay of shapes and patterns. Every stroke of the brush is an ode to the indelible impact my family has had on shaping my artistic identity, and in each piece, I strive to capture the essence of emotion and imagination that art, in its purest form, embodies.

The vibrant energy and raw expression found in street art serve as a boundless well of inspiration for my creative pursuits. The dynamic interplay of colors, shapes, and messages conveyed through urban murals fuels my own artistic exploration, infusing my work with the unbridled spirit and eclectic narratives synonymous with street art culture.

In the future, I aspire to translate my artistic vision onto a grand scale by creating captivating murals that not only reflect the vibrant essence of street art but also contribute to the urban landscape, telling stories and fostering a sense of connection within diverse communities.
